I loved reading this, Delia. I sometimes wonder whether I’d still think about weekends differently if I weren’t in this season of life with young children.
My mother always had a case of the Sunday blues, rooted in childhood trauma. She still dislikes Sundays to this day. I suppose it’s a reminder that we’re all carrying something, and always have a little work to do.
Love this Delia ~ I used to be the same. I occasionally work weekends if I’ve spent my week doing other things. But even when I had an executive job i always worked over the weekend … it’s a toughie! Sxx
Yes!~I am struggling even today. I keep telling myself that it's like writing with the wrong hand and I must persevere...thanks for your support Samantha!
I really struggle with giving myself permission for down time and rest. I recently transitioned from working 5 days a week to working four 10 hour days. And yet somehow on my "extra" day off, I have so much to do. I am also inching my way. Thanks for this, glad I'm not the only one.

Thank you Pamela! Although my kids are now grown up I can still reclaim Sundays! Your post gave me some hope and perspective.

Go Kim! I imagine that must be very hard...
Great post. As a person who works every day, this is a great reminder to slow down and enjoy life.
glad you enjoyed and thanks (belatedly) for recommending me!
Absolutely!
